Client:  Albertsons
Project: Enterprise
Architecture Services

CRI consultants were responsible for architecting and implementing Open Source technology solutions which were scalable, flexible, and reliable to meet the business needs of the fourth largest grocery chain in the US.  CRI worked with Albertsons business and technical representatives as well as various software vendors to produce integrated enterprise information models and systems.  CRI assisted in the establishment of the necessary governance structures to facilitate the steady and measureable improvement in the quality of information assets across the enterprise.

CRI architected, developed, and implemented an enterprise information tracking and reporting tool providing executive level visibility into all information subject areas.

Client:   Hewlett  Packard

Project:   UNIX /     SAP / NT
 Support
Services

HP hired CRI for SAP platform support and engineering for SAP Competency Center (SAP CC) servers.  The SSAP CC Division of HP provdies data center infrastructure services to internal and third party clients  For five years (1999 - 2004), CRI was responsible for all areas related to server hardware, car of the operationg system and environment, installation, configuration and device management, software distribution, revision control  and OS patch management.

HP's environment consisted of 350+ Unix and 150+ NT servers in five data centers in North and South America that are in production, used for integration or dedicated to development and testing.

Efficiencies in the SAP platform support environment increased by over 32 percent, with a corresponding increase in service delivery.  Client personnel were able to focus their efforts on trade client revenue-generating activities.

Project:     Global   Delivery
 Storage
Services

From late 1999 through 2005, CRI completed a major storage consolidation project for HP.  The project goal was to convert thousands of servers in multiple data centers from Direct Attached Storage (DAS) to Fiber Channel SAN (FCSAN), both for disc and tape access.   The project resulted in more than 2000 TB of disk storage plus an equivalent amount of tape storage under a centralized development team.

CRI consultants also support HP in the architecture engineering of the current SAN infrastructure.  CRI moved through various generations of infrastructure, from SAN islands to cascaded SANs and ulimately to core-edge connectivity.

Client:       Building Materials
 Holding Corp. (BMHC)

Project:    Messaging Stabilization, Support, and Microsoft Exchange Migration

CRI provided an IT network consultant to augment BMHC’s messaging support team. In addition to providing Microsoft Exchange email support and administration, CRI’s consultant discovered several issues affecting network performance at BMHC.
CRI’s network consultant stabilized the BMHC network infrastructure specific to their messaging environment, configured and installed the messaging server infrastructure. CRI also provided the architecture for data storage for all e-mails within the company, and designed backup recovery systems.
At this time, BMHC was in a heavy growth mode, and CRI assisted or provided lead services on the integration of strategic acquisition e-mail and messaging environments into the BMHC messaging environment. CRI ensured that BMHC’s messaging environment had the scalability and flexibility to handle all their new acquisitions. CRI provided high level architecture design and recommendations to the IT Director for consideration. CRI also created and implemented an enhanced, stable mobile messaging environment through enhanced use of Blackberry. CRI migrated 3500 mailboxes from old Microsoft 5.5 exchange servers to newly deployed 2003 exchange servers. CRI handled an Ironmail emergency change to fix virus issues coming into BMHC. CRI also provided operational support for end user calendar issues.

Client:       Hewlett Packard Confidential Trade Customer

Project:                Event Sink - Message Blocking

CRI, through its Hewlett Packard Managed Service Agreement, has helped one of its trade customers (a large financial services provider) meet SEC requirements.  The SEC requires that all traders/broker-dealers be blocked from communicating with all investment analysts or researchers within the company.
CRI designed a custom “message blocking” solution within Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook to accommodate this requirement. This “Chinese Wall” covers all 75,000 employees. Among these 75,000 e-mail boxes, subsets of traders/broker-dealers and researchers/investment analysts were identified.
With CRI’s solution in place, every single e-mail sent by (or received by) any of the 75,000 employees is reviewed electronically for potential message blocking. If the e-mail originates from a researcher and is sent to a trader, the e-mail is blocked. If the e-mail originates from a researcher and is sent to a non-researcher, but is then forwarded to a trader, it is blocked.
This solution covers all 75,000 e-mail boxes of company locations worldwide including Tokyo, London, Beijing, and Moscow.  CRI’s customized solution also includes a reporting component which provides a minimum monthly report of any blocks.
